Medals Galore!
Once again some of Banbury Cross Archers members returned to the club with some fine trophies and medals, having shot at the Northants County Championships Sunday 14th September.
Well done! The commitment and hard work, you all put into your training at the club, surely did pay off……. The club is very proud of your achievements 🙂 Special congratulations to one of our junior members, Makayla Wench.

Members of Banbury Cross Archers battled through difficult weather conditions today (12/07/2015) at Target Craft Archers, who are based at Kettering, Northamptonshire. During the competition, there was talk at one point, amongst the Judges, of abandoning the competition but the competition resumed and members fought on through the wind and rain. Eventually their persistence paid off and they came home with some winning medals.
The results were as follows:-

NCAS squad Beat Bedfordshire
Well done Jennifer Beesley, Jeremy Beesley, Anita Stubbs, George Stubbs, Emily Rose Stubbs and Simon Stubbs from Banbury Cross Archers, who were part of the NCAS Squad last weekend. Having shot in gusty wind conditions, for the best part of the day, they managed to win all but one bow category competing against Bedfordshire.
Indoor shooting
BXA will be shooting indoors from October 2nd at the Warriner school Sports hall next to the main car park. Wednesdays 7.30pm until 10pm and Sunday’s 2pm until 5pm. Shooting fees will apply.
Emily Rose Stubbs selected for Archery GB Academy
Archery GB is pleased to announce the names of the athletes who have been invited to the England Regional Performance Academy network to launch in September 2013. The Academies are supported by Sport England within the England Talent Pathway and represent a mix of archers on Olympic and Paralympic Pathways.
BXA would like to congratulate Emily Rose Stubbs on being selected onto the programme and wish her well for the future.

BXA Archers scoop medals, a Trophy and claim New Records!
Six Banbury Cross Archers all picked up medals recently at the Harlequin Bowmen – Diana tournament Sunday 2nd June 2013.
Emily Rose Stubbs shot a fantastic Junior Windsor recurve round with a score of 845, which secured her gold place and a New NCAS County record.
In the boys Junior section George Stubbs won gold shooting a Short Junior Windsor round with a score of 549.
In the senior section 4 BXA archers shot Albion rounds for the first time at distances of 80, 60 and 50 yards.
Matt Weston shot a bare bow score of 573 with a gold win and set a new EMAS county record. Anita Stubbs shot a new NCAS County record score of 557 and finished 2nd, only 5 points behind the winner!
Lana Weston shot a compound score of 862 taking her into Bronze place, whilst Simon Stubbs battled with some fierce recurve opposition to claim 3rd place, with a score 812.
Overall the BXA Senior’s took bronze for the Team Albion round, with Anita and Simon Stubbs winning the couples Albion Trophy!
First Archery Beginners Course
Banbury Cross Archers have now set a date for the first beginners course. At present there is a waiting list, due to the popularity of the sport. Emails have been sent out to all those waiting and the dates are Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May 2013.
County records for BXA members!
Four Banbury Cross Archers attended a competition in Wellingborough yesterday, April 22nd. Three came home with medals and two new county records. Well Done to Anita, Simon and Emily Stubbs a great start to the outdoor season!
